From the outside, this is a vast mirrored funnel on top of a wide, flat building

It actually looks much more impressive from the outside. We flew in at night, at about 4.30 local time, after a 13 hour flight, and it was a pretty impressive sight seeing this gleaming, funnel shaped weapon/scientific instrument/alien detector/folly below us in the dark. From the inside it looks pretty good, but nowhere as impressive asfrom above
